It definitely makes a good replacement for the 747 (as Boeing has marketed it), with comparable capacity but improved efficiency and a longer range.Ī lot has changed in the aviation market since the 777X was launched. But the 777-9 is really in a twin-engine category of its own. The smaller 777-8 will compete well against the A350-1000.
